Agreeing to these terms

Allsort is operated by Allsort (“Allsort”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using Allsort, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Allsort.

If you use Allsort on behalf of an organization, you confirm you’re authorized to accept these terms for it.

Who can use Allsort

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to online services where you live if that’s higher, to use Allsort. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you.

Your account

• You need an account to use Allsort. Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date so you can receive sign-in and account emails.
• Keep your password and devices secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our failure to protect it.
• Tell us right away at hello@allsort.app if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
• Accounts are personal. Don’t share, sell or transfer yours.

Your content

“Your content” means what you put into Allsort: the links you save, and the titles, categories, creator names, cover image links and comments you add or edit.

• You keep ownership of your content.
• You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to operate and provide Allsort to you, for example to sync it between your devices and fetch link previews. This license ends when your content is deleted, apart from limited backup copies that expire on their own schedule.
• Your library is private to your account. We don’t publish it, and we don’t use it for advertising.
• You’re responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to save and use it.

Links and third-party content

Allsort helps you keep track of things that live elsewhere, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and other websites.

• The content you link to belongs to its creators and platforms, not to you or us. Allsort stores links and preview details, not the underlying videos, images or posts, and doesn’t grant you any rights in them.
• Cover images and titles come from the public preview information a page publishes. They may be missing, inaccurate, change, expire or stop loading at any time, and we don’t control them.
• Opening a saved link takes you to a third-party site or app, which has its own terms and privacy policy. We aren’t responsible for third-party sites, apps or content.
• You’re responsible for following the terms of the platforms you save from.

Acceptable use

Please use Allsort fairly. You agree not to:

• Break any law, or use Allsort to store or link to content that is illegal, including child sexual abuse material.
• Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
• Use Allsort’s link preview feature to scan, probe or attack networks or systems, reach non-public addresses, or get around access controls, paywalls or rate limits.
• Interfere with, overload or disrupt Allsort, or try to get around our usage limits or security measures.
• Access Allsort through automated means (bots, scrapers) except through interfaces we provide for that purpose.
• Try to access another user’s account or data.
• Reverse engineer or decompile Allsort, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.
• Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit Allsort without our written permission.

The service

• Allsort is evolving. We may add, change or remove features, and we may set reasonable limits, such as how many link previews can be fetched in a period.
• We work to keep Allsort available, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. Features that depend on third parties, like Google sign-in or link previews, may stop working if those third parties change.
• If we decide to discontinue Allsort entirely, we’ll give you reasonable advance notice and a way to get a copy of your library where practical.
• Allsort is a convenience, not a backup service. If something you save is important, keep your own copy of it.

Fees

We don’t charge for features you’re using under these terms. If we introduce paid features in the future, we’ll clearly tell you the price and terms first, and you’ll never be charged unless you choose to buy them.

Our intellectual property

Allsort, including its app, website, software, design, the Allsort name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Allsort app and website for your own, non-commercial use. Apart from that, these terms don’t give you any rights in Allsort or our brand.

Feedback

We love hearing ideas. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them freely, without any obligation to you.

Ending your use

• You can stop using Allsort at any time. To delete your account and library, email hello@allsort.app from the address you signed up with. You can delete individual saves and comments in the app whenever you like.
• We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect Allsort, our users or others. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem or get a copy of your content first.
• Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) continue after your use ends.

Disclaimers

Allsort is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that Allsort will be uninterrupted, error-free or never lose data. Category suggestions and link previews are automated conveniences and may be wrong.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Allsort and its operator, team and suppliers won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or content, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Allsort.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Allsort is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Allsort in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50.

These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and compensate us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your content or from your breach of these terms or of the law. This doesn’t apply where you’re using Allsort as a consumer and the law where you live doesn’t permit it.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Allsort is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.

If you have a concern, please contact us first at hello@allsort.app. Most issues can be solved quickly and informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we’ll let you know in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Allsort after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Allsort and ask us to delete your account.

General

• These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Allsort.
• If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• If we don’t enforce a right right away, we haven’t waived it.
• You can’t transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, as long as your rights under these terms aren’t reduced.
• App stores you download Allsort from aren’t parties to these terms and aren’t responsible for Allsort, though their own terms may also apply to your download.
